Dr. Feifel obtained his M.D. and Ph.D (Neurobiology) from the University of Toronto and then completed a psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), staying on to become a full professor. While at UCSD, he taught, and directed the inpatient psychiatry service and conducted research focusing on innovative treatments. He has over 135 peer-reviewed publications. In 2008, he established the world’s first program treating psychiatric conditions with infusions of subanesthetic ketamine, a treatment now widely acknowledged to be a breakthrough. In 2017, Dr. Feifel established Kadima Neuropsychiatry Institute, a private clinic that focuses on advanced treatments for psychiatric conditions.
